A brief biography

After spending over 30 years as a biologist for the State of New York, I took to the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains with my camera to capture and share the natural world.

I established my photography business in January 2025 with the goal to show nature simply being nature. This black-capped chickadee was one of my first successes in doing just that on a very cold January day. I had never seen, nor expected to see, a chickadee feverously tear into a cattail stem and prey on insects. This one did so with incredible success.

I hope you enjoy my growing catalog of photographs and videos of these unique and ecologically important areas. You can view them under the gallery tab. Enjoy!
